To quote Wikipedia: "A clinometer or inclinometer is an instrument for measuring angles of slope (or tilt), elevation or depression of an object with respect to gravity."
The answer on the question sheet reproduced this definition almost verbatim, so presumably any one of these alternatives (angle of tilt, elevation, or depression with respect to gravity) would have been acceptable as a correct answer.
